Momentum provides customized programs steeped in research creating a benchmark to understand the pulse of the organization and identify key issues. The company provides unconscious bias training as well as program strategy and administration. Momentum has partnered with leading organizations to reach their goals such as Sherrard, Roe, Voigt & Harbison, Young Leaders Council, Tennessee Government Management Institute, Junior League of Nashville and Mental Health America of the Mid-South.
About Joyce
After 30 years of experience in business, non-profit management, higher education and community leadership, Joyce Espy Searcy launched her consultancy, Momentum, LLC in November 2019. She works across industry sectors including legal organizations, corporations, non-profits, higher education, and government agencies to develop assessments and lead strategic planning efforts that lead to transformational change.
Joyce has been at the forefront of diversity, equity, and inclusion training for more than 30 years. A graduate of Fisk University and Peabody at Vanderbilt University, she has served on numerous non-profit boards and received recognition for her leadership such as:
YWCA of the USA, Vice-President for Mid-States and delivered training to local YWCA affiliates across the region and developed diversity curricula for girls.
Girl Scouts of the USA, Board Member and helped lead the efforts to reorganize the national non-profit and developed diversity curricula for girls.
Nashville Public Library, Chair, Board of Directors.
Leadership Nashville, Secretary of the Board of Trustees, and Co-Chair of the DEI Committee for Leadership Nashville Alumni.
Nashville Minority Business Center and the Nashville Area Hispanic Chamber have recognized her work on diversity.
ATHENA Award recipient and inducted into the Academy for Women of Achievement by the YWCA of Middle Tennessee.
Joyce also serves as the Founding Director for the Office of Community Relations at Belmont University and drives the relationship-building for the University, developing partnerships and collaborations with government, corporations, not-for-profits, educational institutions and community organizations. At Belmont, she originated the University’s Supplier Diversity pilot to increase access to contracts for minority business owners, launched a program to train minority women to serve on boards, and serves on the Welcome Home Diversity Council.
